AFRIMA and the African Union unveiled the global calendar for the awards’ 10th edition in Beverly Hills, pairing the announcement with an industry investment roundtable.
The All Africa Music Awards has taken the roadmap for its 10th edition to Los Angeles, using a Beverly Hills event on 20 September to position the next AFRIMA cycle around investment, industry partnerships and African music’s global business footprint.
The International Executive Committee of AFRIMA, working with the African Union, unveiled the official global calendar alongside a Creative Industry Roundtable and Stakeholders Conference. The theme was “Catalyst for Collaboration & Investment in the Global Creative Industry”.
Holding the calendar launch in Los Angeles gives AFRIMA direct access to one of the world’s most concentrated entertainment-business ecosystems. Organisers said the engagement was designed to bring together artists, actors, investors, policymakers, media executives and members of the African diaspora.
That is a broader ambition than simply announcing nomination dates and an awards ceremony. AFRIMA is increasingly presenting itself as infrastructure around African music — a place where recognition, policy, investment and export conversations can happen in the same cycle.
South African artists and companies are deeply embedded in the continent’s current music economy, from amapiano and house to labels, touring, publishing and live production. The tenth edition therefore matters locally even before nominees are announced.
If AFRIMA succeeds in turning its Los Angeles engagement into durable commercial relationships, the value will be measured less by red-carpet visibility and more by what African artists, managers and businesses can access after the event.
The organisation has not yet completed the full awards cycle publicly. The calendar launch is the starting gun for the tenth edition, not the finish line.
