Netflix has released the official trailer for Seriously Single Too, bringing Dineo and Noni back six years after the original South African romantic comedy became one of the streamer’s early local breakouts.
This time the friendship is under more pressure than the dating lives. What starts as a Cape Town bachelorette getaway for the now-estranged friends unravels into a run of disasters that leaves their bond close to breaking point.
Fulu Modibedi returns as Dineo alongside Tumi Morake as Noni, with Buntu Petse, Keke Mphuthi, Yonda Thomas and Thabiso Rammusi joining the cast. Rethabile Ramaphakela and Katleho Ramaphakela direct for Burnt Onion Productions.
The trailer shifts the sequel out of Johannesburg and into Cape Town, using the city as more than a postcard backdrop. The trip is supposed to repair a damaged friendship; instead, it magnifies everything that is already wrong between the two women.
That makes Seriously Single Too a different proposition from the first film. The original leaned heavily on dating and self-discovery. The sequel appears more interested in what happens when friendship reaches the point where history is no longer enough to hold it together.
The film forms part of Netflix’s 2026 South African slate, announced as the platform marks 10 years in the country. The company has also confirmed returning titles including Blood Legacy Season 2, Marked Season 2 and Meet the Khumalos 2, alongside new projects such as Love Is Blind: South Africa.
That broader slate suggests Netflix is increasingly willing to revisit local brands that already have an audience rather than treating South African originals as one-off experiments.
Seriously Single Too premieres on Netflix on 16 October 2026.
